Our podiatry department focuses on patient-physician communication, providing patients with quality care without focusing on an allotted period of time.

Podiatry

Our podiatry department is committed to fostering strong patient-physician communication,
providing patients with comprehensive, high-quality care without being constrained by a set time
frame. We believe in taking the time to understand each patient’s unique needs, which begins
with a detailed history of the patient’s ailment followed by a complete exam. During this
process, our doctors engage in a full discussion of the treatment plan, ensuring that patients are
well-informed every step of the way.

At Long Island Comprehensive Medical Care, we believe it is not enough to simply relieve a
patient’s immediate foot ailment. We focus on the root cause of the pain, because by identifying
the underlying issue, we can not only provide effective treatment but also prevent future
recurrences. Whether it’s related to foot, ankle, or lower extremity conditions, our team aims to
treat the body as a whole, taking into account how issues in one area may impact others.
It’s important to see a podiatrist if you experience persistent pain, discomfort, or swelling in your
feet or ankles, or if you notice changes in the appearance or function of your feet. Common signs
that indicate you should consult a podiatrist include foot or ankle injuries, difficulty walking or
standing, toenail problems, heel pain, or persistent conditions like bunions, flat feet, or diabetesrelated foot issues. Prompt attention to these concerns can prevent further complications and
improve your quality of life.

In addition to our wide range of general podiatric services, we offer specialized care in foot and
ankle surgery. Our team is highly skilled in performing both minimally invasive and more
complex surgical procedures to address various conditions, such as fractures, deformities,
tendinitis, and ligament injuries. Post-surgical care is a critical component of recovery, and we
emphasize a comprehensive aftercare plan tailored to each patient’s specific needs. Our team is
dedicated to providing ongoing support throughout the rehabilitation process, ensuring that our
patients heal properly and return to their regular activities safely.

We also understand that foot ailments are not always isolated to the feet themselves. Conditions
such as diabetes, circulation issues, and musculoskeletal disorders can significantly affect the
health of the feet and ankles. As part of our holistic approach, we offer referrals to other
specialists as needed, ensuring our patients receive comprehensive care for their overall wellbeing.
For those who are unable to travel to our office, we also provide home visits for patients residing
in Nassau and Suffolk counties, with a special focus on geriatric and disabled patients who may
have difficulty visiting in person. This ensures that every patient, regardless of their
circumstances, has access to the care they need.

Our podiatry team is led by Dr. Omer Aci, Dr. Jae Woo Chung, and Dr. Evan LaTourrette. If
you’re experiencing foot or ankle issues, don’t wait for the pain to worsen. Contact our office
today to schedule your appointment or select the “book online” option to right of this page and
take the first step toward improved foot and ankle health!
